Overview
tl;dr
I’m Drake Preston; an Austin-based designer and director with 10 years of experience spanning brand, print, and experiential design.

In 2015, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University with a BFA in Graphic Design.

Since then, I’ve helped founders, teams, and studios create work that translates vision into tangible, impactful brand experiences.

My work is not industry-specific. I’ve had
the privilege of exploring and designing in
the worlds of arts, culture, civic & public, education, finance, health, hospitality, non-profits, publishing, retail, and technology. Each new industry has provided a wealth
of knowledge and has taught me that innovation and discovery happen when
we explore what we don’t know.
Approach
tl;dr
I’m an optimist; an idealist; a let’s-try-it-ist. I do my best work with people who share a desire to spark joy, stoke wonder, build empathy, and foster a community of those inspired to pass it on.

My approach is pragmatic, human-centered, and research-driven, resulting in work with utility and endurance.

With each partnership, I listen, research, strategize, design, pitch, iterate, and manage production from end to end—every step grounded in transparency, collaboration, curiosity, and heart.

If you’d like to work on a project or see samples of my work, please feel free to say hello.
